Overview

Advanced Chronic Prescribing is taught by André Saine, D.C., N.D., F.C.A.H., world-renowned leader in the field of homeopathy. Dr. Saine has a great enthusiasm for teaching and a wealth of clinical experience. These come together to create a uniquely dynamic yet scholarly course, with live case taking and real clinical examples that bring the material even further to life. Dr. Saine has amassed encyclopedic knowledge of the literature and history of homeopathy, based on more than twenty years of study of the original writings of its greatest practitioners. • Philosophy of Homeopathy
  Course: 30 hours This part of the program presents the fundamental principles of homeopathic doctrine through the study of important works such as Samuel Hahnemann’s Organon and Chronic Diseases.
• How to Study Materia Medica
  Course: 44 hours
• Case Taking
  Course: 40 hours A thorough review of the basic method, different strategies, and interpretation of different answers in the interview process is presented. Examination of the patient, as well as case taking of acute, unconscious, and infant patients, are also covered.
• Case Analysis
  Course: 44 hours
  The totality of symptoms and their classification and valuation are reviewed. Finding the genius of the case and the simillimum, and a discussion of dissimilar and complex diseases, are presented.
• Neurology
  Course: 28 hours
  The most common neurological conditions, and multiple sclerosis in particular, are reviewed via paper and live cases. The latter permits for examination of the patient and differentiation of what is common versus what is peculiar, which can only be acquired through clinical experience.
• Epilepsy
  Course: 18 hours
  Epilepsy merits its own section as a neurological condition, because homeopathy has vast experience in the treatment of these patients. Paper cases are reviewed, covering examination of the patient, differentiation of what is common versus what is peculiar, and differential Materia Medica.
• Pneumonia
  Course: 2 hours
  Homeopathy offers the best-documented treatment in all of medicine for patients with all types and degrees of severity of pneumonia. In this part of the course, examination and treatment of pneumonia patients are reviewed with paper cases, differentiation of what is common versus what is peculiar, and differential Materia Medica.
• Psychiatry
  Course: 98 hours
  Homeopathy can successfully address most of the common psychiatric acute and chronic conditions, from neuroses to psychoses. In this part of the course, we review the examination and treatment of psychiatric patients through paper cases, differentiation of what is common versus what is peculiar, and differential Materia Medica.
• Rheumatology
  Course: 16 hours
  Homeopathy has an excellent record in the treatment of rheumatic patients, regardless of the etiology, in such conditions as infection or autoimmunity.  Paper cases of patients with rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and polymyositis are reviewed, with special emphasis on what is most characteristic versus what is common, and differential Materia Medica.
• Homeopathic Prophylaxis
  Course: 8 hours
  What can be treated under the principles of similarity can also be prevented. Hahnemann first successfully employed homeoprophylaxis in 1799 during an epidemic of scarlet fever with belladonna. Homeoprophylaxis can be applied beyond the prevention of infectious diseases, for example in anticipatory events such as physical trauma (e.g., surgery), or emotionally trying times (e.g., funerals). In this part of the course, we review the principles of posology and remedy selection in homeoprophylaxis.
• Homeopathy in Surgery & Advanced First Aid
  Course: 30 hours
  Homeopaths who were also trained surgeons developed great expertise in the potential usage of homeopathy in surgical conditions. The most common surgical and first-aid conditions are reviewed through differential materia medica. As well, clear instructions are given on how to prepare patients before their undergoing major surgery, prevention of post-surgical shock, pain, and bleeding, and how to speed up recovery times.
