In this recorded course, Dr. Will Taylor and Kim Elia focus on 10 different remedies from the Solanaceae, or Nightshade Family. This course recording consists of ten 2-hour segments, each covering a different remedy in depth, through materia medica and cases. Differentials with non-Nightshade remedies and a discussion of some of the lesser known Solanaceae is also included throughout the course.

Why study the Solanaceae?

The Solanaceae, or Nightshade Remedies, are one of the most interesting and diverse botanical groupings used in homeopathy. From the Solanaceae we derive Belladonna, Stramonium, Hyoscyamus, Tabacum, Dulcamara and Capsicum — important remedies we use in daily practice. This group also includes potentially useful remedies which merit further exploration, including tomatoes (Lycopersicon), potatoes (Solanum tuberosum) and eggplant (Solanum melongena).

Even some of the well known remedies in this grouping, such as Belladonna, Stramonium or Hyoscyamus, have features which are often times missed in practice. For example, Belladonna, in addition to its violent, explosive picture, can also present with a gentle and mild temperament.

In Knowing the Nightshades Will and Kim shed light on the many facets and nuances of understanding these remedies in their totality. As your understanding grows, so will your ability to recognize when these remedies are indicated in your cases!
